Discipleship Ministries include those that are teaching others why, what, and how to answer the call of Christ and to live like HE wants us to live. They are those ministries that contribute to fulfilling the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20: "And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'”
The Commission tells us (1) to go and(2) make disciples.
Very few of us are called to be missionaries to far lands, but we are all called to go to "all the nations" (other cultures, people who have differing beliefs). 1 Peter 3:15 tells us, "but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." Those other cultures and differing beliefs are often right next door to us.
Making disciples has many aspects varying from simple testimonies seeking to lead others to faith in Christ to extensive teaching lessons to complex programs to show people how to live the way Christ commands us.
